Travel Information

Samos can be reached either by plane or by ferry:

By plane

There are daily flights from Athens airport(45 minutes) and Thessaloniki airport(50 minutes) by Olympic Air, Aegean Airlines and Astra Airlines. You can also fly into Samos from other Greek islands such as Chios, Rhodes, Mytilini, Heraklion or Limnos with Sky Express and many other Airlines.
There are direct charter flights to Samos from many European cities.

By ferry

There are usually two ships every day coming to Samos from Piraeus, the port of Athens. They usually leave Piraeus in the morning and arrive at Samos early in the evening. It is about 9-11 hours travel, so in case you choose to travel by ship it will be convinient to book a bed or a cabin. Some itineraries ends at Karlovassi which is the first port of Samos (the home town of the Department of Mathematics of the University of the Aegean). Other itineraries have final destination the port of Samos (Samos town is the capital of Samos).
From Samos/Vathi the simplest way to get to the conference site is to take a taxi to Doryssa Bay Hotel (about 15 Km or 9.32 miles).
