Tasos C. Papanastasiou Award
The award honors the memory of Professor Tasos C. Papanastasiou,
who made significant contribution to the field of rheology during his career in Cyprus, USA, and Greece.
It is given to outstanding young scientists engaged in rheological research and recognizes their achievements and contributions to the advancement of rheological science.
The award will be presented for the first time at the 11th meeting of the Hellenic Society of Rheology (HSR) to be held on the island of Syros, June 11-14, 2025.
Pavlos Stephanou Receives the Inaugural «Tasos C. Papanastasiou Award»
The Hellenic Society of Rheology (HSR) is pleased to announce that Professor Pavlos Stephanou has been selected as the recipient of the inaugural «Tasos C. Papanastasiou Award».
Professor Stephanou's exceptional research in non-equilibrium thermodynamics and constitutive modeling has significantly advanced the understanding of complex fluid behavior.
His work, including the development of a simple, accurate, and user-friendly differential constitutive model for the rheology of entangled polymer melts and solutions,
has had a profound impact on the field.
In recognition of this achievement, Professor Stephanou will deliver a keynote speech titled “Non-equilibrium thermodynamics modeling of complex fluids: From polymer melts
to cement pastes”.
We congratulate Professor Stephanou on this well-deserved honor and look forward to celebrating his contributions at HSR 2025.
